Finding Tickets for an Event

At StubHub, you can buy tickets for a variety of events, including concerts, sporting events, theatrical productions, and more. We make it as easy as possible to buy your tickets.

There are a number of ways to search for tickets on StubHub.com. You can locate events by genre or category using the navigation links in the left-hand column of the StubHub home page.

To search by genre or category:

  1. Click the genre (such as "Sports" or "Concerts") or event category (such as "NBA Basketball" or "Madonna") that interests you. A list of all events in that genre or category displays.
  2. When you find the event you want to attend, click the link to view a list of all available tickets for that event.

If you know which event you want to attend, you can use the search field on the StubHub homepage to find tickets for that event. To find tickets:

  1. Type the name of the event you want to attend in the search field at the top of the StubHub home page.
  2. Click the Find button. A list of categories and events matching your search criteria displays.
  3. Click the event in the list that you want to attend. A list of all available tickets for the event displays. The list is automatically sorted by price. You can also sort the list by section, row, or quantity.

If you want to see all of the events currently listed for your city, click Choose Your City at the top of the StubHub home page. A list of cities, divided alphabetically by state, displays. Simply click your city in the list. A list of upcoming events in your city displays.

If you don't find the event you're looking for, you can request that we add it. For more information, read about Events Not on the Site.

Viewing Event Information

When viewing the events in a category (for example, the list of all Rolling Stones concerts), the following information is displayed:

  • Event -- the name of the event and its date.
  • Date -- the exact date, day of the week, and time of the event.
  • Venue -- the name of the venue and its location.
  • Price Range -- the price range of available tickets for the event.

You can sort the list by any of the above criteria. When you've found the event you want to attend, click the event name or its corresponding Buy link to see a list of available tickets for that event.

You can often purchase tickets up to the start time of the event. However, if Last Minute Services or Instant eDelivery are not available, we remove the event listing within 72 hours of the event to ensure there's enough time for tickets to reach you.

If an event's Buy link is dimmed (gray), there are no tickets currently available for the event. Check back often, since ticket listings are constantly updated until we remove the event from the website.

Choosing Tickets

Once you've selected the event you want to attend, you'll see a list of available tickets for that event.

In most cases, you can view a map of the venue to help determine the general location of the listed tickets. To view the map, simply click the venue map above the list.

Using TicketFilter to Search for Tickets

If you’re on a budget, need a specific number of tickets, or both, you can use the StubHub TicketFilter to list only those available tickets that match what you’re looking for. The TicketFilter is located in the left-hand column of any Event page.

To use the TicketFilter to search for tickets:

  1. Choose the quantity you're looking for from the Quantity drop-down menu. To find tickets in all available quantities, choose "--."
  2. Select the checkbox corresponding with the price range that fits your budget. To find tickets at any price, select "Show All."
  3. Click the Find button.

A list of tickets matching your search criteria displays.

Viewing Available Tickets for an Event

When viewing the list of tickets for an event, you’ll see the following information:

  • Section -- the section of the venue in which the seats are located, as specified on the ticket.
  • Row -- the row within the section, as specified on the ticket. Although row information is often not available on the venue map, lower row numbers and letters are generally closer to the field, court, or stage. If you need assistance determining a venue's row configuration, please give us a call at 1.866.STUBHUB (1.866.788.2482).

Note: Specific seat numbers are not displayed in most StubHub ticket listings. Why?

  • Quantity -- the number of tickets available for you to purchase, as specified by the seller. If the seller is willing to split the quantity and sell a portion of the tickets, the listed quantity will read "Up to (#) tickets together." Otherwise, the quantity will read "(#) tickets together," and the number is not negotiable.

For example, if the quantity reads, "Up to 6 tickets together," you may be able to purchase a single ticket, a pair of tickets, or a group of three tickets, depending upon how the seller is willing to split the quantity. If the quantity reads, "6 tickets together," the seller is only willing to sell all six tickets as a group.

Note: Most sellers are not willing to sell individual tickets.

  • Price – the per-ticket price, set by the seller. We expect sellers to abide by the StubHub User Agreement and list tickets in accordance with all applicable local, state, federal and international laws, statutes and regulations. However, sellers may ask any price for their tickets. All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars and are non-negotiable.

Note: If the tickets are in an auction-style listing, the Price column reflects the minimum bid amount (if no bids have been placed), or the current bid. The number of bids that have been placed is listed immediately to the right of the price. For more information, read about Bidding for Tickets .

You can sort the list by any of the above criteria.

instant delivery Instant eDelivery and Parking Passes

For Major League Baseball tickets, you’ll also see icons indicating that Instant eDelivery is available and if parking passes are included with the tickets in a listing.

instant delivery Indicates that Instant eDelivery is available for the tickets

parking Indicates that one or more parking passes is included with the tickets.

Once you find a set of tickets that interests you, click View Details to see more specific information about the tickets and, if you choose, purchase them. For more information, read about Viewing Ticket Details.

Choosing Specific Seats

We do not require sellers to disclose the seat number for the tickets they are selling.

Why?

There are a couple of reasons.

First, it's a privacy issue for many sellers. Requiring the disclosure of seat numbers would make many sellers unwilling or unable to sell their tickets at StubHub - and that would reduce the number of tickets available for you to purchase.

Second - and more important - we want to provide a level of guarantee for the tickets you purchase. Because most tickets are shipped directly from the seller and are never in our possession, guaranteeing exact seats is simply beyond our capability. For example, if you purchase 2 tickets from a listing of 6 tickets, we cannot guarantee which 2 of the 6 the seller will ship to you.

What about aisle seats?

Aisle seats are a major selling point for any set of tickets. If any of the tickets in a listing are seated on an aisle, the seller will almost certainly state this in the listing's Comments. But again, we are unable to guarantee which ticket the seller ships from a listing.

So what do we guarantee?

We understand how important it is to get the tickets you want. We guarantee that the tickets you purchase from a single listing will be seated together - unless otherwise noted in the listings Comments. We also guarantee that the tickets you receive will be in a section and row equal to, comparable to, or better than the section and row listed. For more information, read about our FanProtect ™ Guarantee.

Does StubHub ever guarantee seat numbers?

Yes. Because StubHub is partnered with MLB.com, when a season ticket holder lists Major League Baseball tickets from their team’s website, the seat information is automatically transferred to StubHub from the team, allowing us to guarantee those exact seats to buyers and deliver the tickets by Instant eDelivery. When seat numbers are available, you’ll see them on the Order Review page before you place your order.

Viewing Ticket Details

Once you find a set of tickets that interests you, click View Details to see more specific information about the tickets. The ticket details include the following additional information about the selected tickets:

  • Time Left -- the amount of time, in days, hours, and minutes, that the tickets will be available for purchase.
  • Seller Comments -- additional information the seller has provided about the tickets.

We require sellers to disclose in their comments if seats are not together, if the tickets are seated in an alcohol-free section of the venue, if the tickets are designated for students or faculty, or if tickets are indicated by the venue as limited, obstructed, or partial view. Sellers may also provide other relevant information, such as “near restrooms” or “wheelchair access,” and add amenities, such as parking passes, club passes, and non-event tickets, to help you determine if the tickets are right for you.

Note: Although we caution sellers not to include misleading or inaccurate information in comments, we cannot guarantee information provided in comments or other areas of a ticket listing and are not liable for the accuracy of this information.

  • Delivery Method – how you will obtain the tickets. Depending upon the listing, tickets will either be shipped to you by FedEx, delivered by eDelivery, or available for pick-up from a Last Minute Service Center.

  • Available Quantity -- the number of tickets available for you to purchase, which depends upon how the seller is willing to split the tickets. The Select Quantity drop-down menu displays all the ticket quantities available to you. If the drop-down menu contains only one quantity, the seller is not willing to split the tickets and they must be purchased at the quantity listed.

  • Bidding Information (auction-style listings only) -- the Current Bid, Minimum Bid, Bid Increment, By It Now price (if available), and amount of time remaining until the bidding ends. For more information, read about Bidding for Tickets .

After reviewing the ticket details, if you decide you want the tickets, select the quantity from the drop-down menu and click the Buy button to proceed with your purchase. For more information, read about Buying Tickets.

  2. Enter your name and email address in the fields provided.
  3. Type a description of the event, including the date, time, and location (city, state, and venue) and click Submit.

Purchasing Season Tickets

If a seller lists an entire season ticket package, your purchase of the package includes tickets for all regular season games for the year. However, purchasing season tickets from a seller at StubHub does not give you licensing rights for future season tickets.

Note: Make sure you're aware of a venue's rules and regulations, including policies on drinking and smoking. Although StubHub cannot be responsible - and is not liable - for buyer's behavior at events, buyers may be held accountable for any behavior that affects a seller's status with a team or venue.
