The band was formed in 1986 in Santa Barbara, California when a group of high school friends got together and decided to jam. Their first appearance was at an open competition, and though they didn't win, it didn’t put them down. They kept at it and were ultimately signed to a recording contract. Over the next ten years, they released eight albums and had seven singles hit the charts.
